Stephan Bodzin is an absolute synth sorcerer, weaving strikingly gorgeous, chill-inducing melodies from raw, growling intensity in a uniquely emotive way, bursting with powerful sentiment. His “Powers of Ten” album was one of the most stunning releases of the year, with every track on there absolutely phenomenal. Forthcoming December 18th on his imprint Herzblut is “Powers of Ten Remixes”, 16 tracks including this breath-taking remix by Maceo Plex, who is also known for jaw-dropping productions, and fellow techno maven Shall Ocin. Masterfully infusing dancefloor elements into the previously beatless and heady “Powers of Ten”, the energy is kicked up, preserving the captivating build of the dynamic synth melancholia, but now climaxing into a danceable release from the goosebump-coaxing tension. Nothing short of awe-inspiring would be expected from this trifecta of artistry, and those expectations are beautifully met.
